Terrence C. Brown-Steiner has been practicing law for more than 20 years. He concentrates his practice in the areas of civil Litigation, Family Law, Elder Law, Landlord-Tenant Law, with full general practice.

He is a member of the Monroe County Bar Association, and is a member of the Family Law Section and Elder Law Committee. Mr. Brown-Steiner is the Chairman of the Monroe County Bar Association Elder Law Committee (2006-07 and 2007-08). He is past Chair of the Public Interest Law Committee and a member of the President's Commission on Access to Justice of the Monroe County Bar Association. He is a frequent lecturer on Elder Law topics with the New York State Bar Association and various private continuing legal education providers.

Mr. Brown-Steiner received his Juris Doctor degree at the State University of New York at Buffalo Law School in 1985 where he was Senior Editor of the Buffalo Law Review. He earned his Bachelors in Political Science degree from the State University of New York at Geneseo in 1982. Mr. Brown-Steiner was a Reginald Heber Smith Community Law Fellowship (Poverty Law, 1985-86).

Mr. Brown-Steiner is a member of the East Rochester Board of Education, and several not for profit organizations including the East Rochester Alumni Foundation, Inc. (treasurer), Gay Alliance of Genesee Valley, LAWNY, Inc. [Monroe County Legal Assistance Corporation] and Member, Rotary Disabled Children of Monroe County Golf Tournament, Inc. Mr. Brown-Steiner is an active member of the East Rochester Rotary Club and the Volunteer Legal Services Project. He remains involved in Boy Scouting through the Explorer Program.

He is admitted to practice in all New York State courts, United States District Court (Western District) and United States Bankruptcy courts (Western District, 1987), Second Circuit Court of Appeals (1990) and United States Supreme Court (1990).

Terrence C. Brown-Steiner is also a recipient of the East Rochester "Man of the Year" Award in 2000.
